Welcome Shooters, Collectors, and Investors! Please allow me to make a few bold statements. My intention is to instill some sense of urgency concerning the acquisition of collectable Parker shotguns. Here are a few of my observations.
First, let's get past the obvious- that we at Puglisi Gun Emporium currently have a significant offering of Parker shotguns that are of interest to shooters, collectors, and investors alike.
Next, consider that the availability of original Parker shotguns cannot grow. This makes it clear that it takes only a few added buyers to further diminish individual purchasing opportunities.
As a result of our extensive and on-going offering of Parkers (a collection that took this aggressive purchaser some 50 years to amass) and other firearms, coupled with Jim Parker's considerable collection of vintage Parkers recently coming onto the market, buyers have been lulled into thinking that the supply is endless! This is simply not the case, especially with regard to the small number of graded versions as are documented in The Parker Story book set.
The forgotten "Parkers Of The Past" were once the damascus barreled shotguns. Today, a newly found appreciation makes them the centerpiece in many gunrooms! (You can come out of your closets- we know who you are!) To me, the Parker that is the most pleasing to the eye is the gun with high condition and a great deal to offer in both case color and damascus barrel finish . . . and of course throw in some quality wood. This is what makes a true beauty, in my opinion. If a person considers two Parker guns in the top 5% of condition- one with steel barrels and the other with damascus- the damascus barreled gun will sell much more readily and at a higher price.
Those of us who have collected Parkers for a long time discover both the pangs and pleasures of this revelation: We can no longer "slip up" on a wonderful old damascus gun now that the secret is out. On the other hand our years of diligent acquisition offer rewards today that are beyond our former expectations!
Don't wait to buy your quality damascus guns! There is truth in the statement "The Supply Is Limited"!
